How to play Table Tennis

Table Tennis gives you a focused activity to play in your browser. Reach eleven points with a two-point lead. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Read the objective before making your first input. Look at what changes after your first action.

rally/service model, win-by-two and alternating deuce service.

Notice the feedback

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Reach eleven points with a two-point lead. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Check the rules when you are unsure.

Step by step

  1. Serve.
  2. Move the lower paddle under the ball.
  3. Hit after the bounce near your baseline.
  4. A missed return gives a point.

Controls

Pointer/paddle buttons; Hit / return; Space serves or hits. Use the control method described here for this activity. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

An early hit is rejected; wait while positioning the paddle. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Check the stated objective.

Watch out for this

The ball-flight model is timing-based, not full tournament physics. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
