How to play Reaction Challenge

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Reaction Challenge. Finish five valid responses. An early click does not count as a completed response; start that attempt again. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Look at what changes after your first action.

Keep the aim in sight

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Use the example to check your reasoning.

Your goal

Finish five valid responses. An early click does not count as a completed response; start that attempt again. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. Start a round and wait without clicking.
  2. When GO appears, click or tap the large target.
  3. Read your response time and start the next round.
  4. After five rounds, the game shows the mean time.

Controls

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

A useful example

A valid 250 ms response counts. Clicking during WAIT is too early and must be repeated. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Keep the controls nearby.

Watch out for this

Browser scheduling, screen refresh and input hardware can affect the measurement. It is not a medical test. Compare the situation with the worked example. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
